Have You Seen The Lord?

For His invisible attributes have been described from the creation of the world, being apprehended by His achievements, besides His imperceptible power and divinity, for them to be defenseless.

Paul to the Romans 1: 20, Concordant New Testament

There was quite a discussion among our group this week over the placement of a few certain billboards around the city.  The signs proclaim, "When you die, you will see God."  Now, any mainstream church going person may already be aware of this.  Growing up, I lived in fear of being deemed guilty of many bad behaviors I engaged in.  I knew that I would eventually meet God, but would that be a good or a bad thing?  The church paradigm tells us that there is indeed sin in our lives that we need to continually deal with.  Being holy, God cannot be in the presence of sin.  This is what I was taught.  But the apostle Paul, a redeemed sinner in his own right, proclaims that we no longer need to worry over sin.  Paul tells us that we should be reckoning ourselves to be dead to sin forever {Paul to the Romans 6:10}.  It's common knowledge in Christian theology that Christ Jesus gave Himself that we would be free of our sin {Paul to the Corinthians (2) 5:21}.  But what about the idea of seeing God when we die?  I agree with that completely, and being now being found to be without sin, we no longer need to fear the Lords judgement.  However, I believe that the world will most certainly see the Lord sooner than that.  Jesus proclaims that when we see Him we see the Father as well {Johns Account 14:9}.  But have you even been witness to Jesus?  Again, Paul gives us some guidance here.  It is Paul who proclaims that it is Christ who now lives in us {Paul to the Galatians 2:20}.  This is the indwelling spirit of Jesus in us.  But wait, Paul's on a roll here.  Not only is Christ in us, but we're not defined by our flesh.  Our physical appearance is not who we truly resemble.  Paul tells us that we are not in the flesh but in spirit {Paul to the Romans 8:9}.  This is our spirit likeness of God {Genesis 1:27}.  Where am I going with all of this?  To present to you that there is a good chance that you have already been witness to seeing God.

Who, being the effulgence of His glory and emblem of His assumption, besides carrying on by all His powerful declaration, making a cleansing of sins, is seated at the right hand of the majesty in the heights.

To the Hebrews 1: 3, Concordant New Testament

I cannot blame people for not grasping the truth of who it is that we truly are in the Lord.  After all, it has taken me the good part of 40 plus years to realize this truth for myself.  I am not at all surprised when those steeped in the mainstream church paradigm have never heard of this truth of Christ in their lives.  For when I sat in those same pews I never heard this truth spoken.  That being said, I can honestly say that I have seen the Lord through reveal Himself through His creation.  I believe that one of the greatest desires of the Lord is that He be known by His children.  How is it that His children would know Him today if He is not expressed through those who know Him?  Too many believers follow the path of the doubting Thomas when faced with the reality of seeing the Lord {Johns Account 20:24-29}.  For Thomas demanded proof for his own belief.  If you do not require proof for your belief that Christ died on the cross and was raised up three days later, why is it that you require proof that the Lord expresses Himself through His creation?  You might be in fear of meeting the Lord, but there's a good chance that you've already seen Him.
